Why keep carrying your yesterday into your tomorrow?
Post Body

Why keep carrying your yesterday into your tomorrow? Well what the hell do I mean by that I can hear your asking.

Well what I mean by that is stop holding on to your past. It's not shit you can change back there. Not a moment or second of the past you can change, but you can move on.

I have a few associates I'm not going to call them friends, but just people I'm acquainted with and be around from time to time. Anyway, there's this one acquaintance let's say her name is Amy. I'm not trying to put her out like that, but anyway getting back to the point I'm trying to make.

I've known Amy for about 2 1/2 maybe 3 years now and every time I've been stuck in a conversation with her no matter what we start off talking about it always end up leading to the same conversation we've had countless of times. How bad her family treated her when she was deathly ill and needed them the most.

I'm not going to go into full detail to protect her privacy, but from the story she tells her family did some pretty fucked up things to her at time she needed them the most.

We don't get to choose our families the people that we are related to and not everyone has the perfect family. I personally don't have a close knit family myself. We've never had a Family Reunion the only time we've really gotten together was for a wedding or a Funeral.

To make it so bad I grew up in NJ most of my people are from the South in which I reside now. I've never really gotten the chance to get to know my family, except my immediate family of course.

Anyway, getting back to Amy she's always on that same subject from the past telling anyone who would listen about how bad her family treated her at a time she needed them the most.

Granted she has the right to feel the way she feels. After all she was near death. Her family tried to sell her house and take her kid's. I really was trying to protect her privacy and still am. I just wanted you to see the severity of the situation.

I'm not in anyway excusing what her family did to her. What they did to her was really fucked up, but it's in the past. It's been years now and she's still stuck in yesterday wondering why her today is so fucked up.

Let that shit go you can't fix or change what happened yesterday, that's in the past, but you can make a better tomorrow.

Sad holding onto hurt, anger, rage, and depression. That shit only hurts you it doesn't hurt the person or the people that have hurt you. Hell, they've moved on. You're stuck allowing your past to control you and keep you down. You have to rise above that. I'm not saying you have to forgive those who have hurt you even though forgiveness is best that way you're not holding that shit on your heart.

I'm not even saying you have to forget, but in order for you to make a better tomorrow you have to leave yesterday in the past.

What you focus on you will experience if you bring your yesterday into today it will be your tomorrow. What you think comments below if you agree disagree or just want to share your opinion feel free to comment below.
