This is the official thread for people to declare their candidacy for the community post of diplomat. Normally political terms will last one month, but because of unusual circumstances this term will last for a bit more than month, beginning on July 17 and ending on 30 August.

Diplomats are responsible for the following:

a. Ensure good relations with the United Province's neighbours, wherever reasonably possible.

b. Represent the United Provinces, and act as a point of contact for foreign parties.

d. Coordinate the construction of the United Provinces' embassies abroad and the construction of foreign powers' embassies within the United Provinces.

e. Organise and oversee elections, popular initiatives and the citizenship process in accordance with the relevant rules.

To run you must be a registered voter, which you can become by taking part in the census. If you don't register your candidacy will be rejected.

The candidate declaration post will remain active for 2 Days, closing at Midnight EST on 16 July 2018. Once the post has closed a vote will be opened, and that will also remain active for 48 hours. To vote you must register here
