Event: Rumours have reached the Imperial Court of the Heavenly Empire of Japan of foreign pretenders to the Imperial dignity, who falsely and blasphemously proclaim themselves as "Emperors", despite the existence of the one, true Emperor ordained by Heaven, who reigns from the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. Worse still, it is heard that some of the denizens of these fake Empires have come to believe that their Emperor is somehow a legitimate one, despite the undeniable truth to the contrary. Unfortunately, we are currently incapable of summoning the gods themselves and having them beat some sense into these vile nonbelievers, so we must resort to means in the mundane world to convince them of our righteousness.

Option 1: Our isolation is preventing our Imperial glory from being made apparent worldwide! We must create some means of projecting force beyond the coasts of our great islands! Only then will the peoples of the world bow their knees to the true Emperor!

Option 2: The true measure of Imperial power is the amount of subject states filling our treasury with tribute! We must expand our network of tributaries and vassals, in order to show our Imperial might!

Option 3: All that matters to prove our Imperial legitimacy is the exceedingly long and pretentious titles of our Empire's leaders! We must stay the course, and not deviate merely to appease the masses of idiots who say otherwise!

Option 4: No, pretentious titles are of secondary importance to the martial arts mastery of our country's leadership! Only when our Emperor and his closest advisors can personally beat obedience out of these false Emperors can our Imperial legitimacy be assured!
