Speaker Viktard Resigns

Speaker of the House, /u/Viktard, has resigned, citing his ability to "no longer carry the massive responsibility of running this chamber." This event is completely unexpected, as Viktard has not given any previous hints at his future resignation. Speculation is rampant, and many suspect the elder Viktard of having brain cancer, early onset dementia, or early onset Alzheimer's, using his apparent declining mental health as evidence.
The Republican House Leadership Conference is now scrambling to find a possible replacement. Many point to prominent legislators such as /u/ATK16, while the Libertarian faction has been causing a buzz over Representative /u/trelivewire, current majority whip.
