This is your Captain speaking. Last June, /u/Brotester came to me with an interesting idea, but it was nothing more than that: just an idea that would sit on the shelf of ideas that would probably never happen. This weekend, I’m proud to announce that it has happened.

Today, I am pleased to be announcing the creation of the Model US Pirate Party. As Pirates, we come from a long tradition of supporting an open government, of, by, and for the people; rejecting elitism and hierarchy for an open and egalitarian society; promoting a free and fair economy that works for everyone; and above all—making sure that your voice is heard.
