Here is where we shall submit edits to the constitution we are doing these in one big go in order to expedite the process.

1.Citizenship may be given out to any player who has been active in the city for two or more weeks and holds primary residency within the city.

1.1.Citizenship can only be lost by failure to uphold the Constitution.

1.2.Citizenship can be lost by failing to hold primary residency within the nation of Sidon.

1.3.Citizens who are accused of failing to uphold the constitution committing acts of treason or other acts against the government will be tried by the Supreme Court.

Reasoning on these is that we had a very hard time defining what counted as loss of citizenship in regards to MrKill and as of our old constitution he was still technically a citizen. With 1.2. added he will cease to be a citizen and it clears up loss of citizenship a bit. 1.3. Clarified a bit what failing to uphold the constitution could entail as before it was a bit vague along with adding treason and acts against the government as reason for removal. I added the fact that they should be tried by supreme court just to make sure farther down the line the vagueness doesn't preclude their right to fair trial.

1.1.1.The parliament shall consist of two seats per every nine citizens (rounded to the nearest integer nearest divisor of nine) minus one.

1.1.1.1.The minimum number of elected members of parliament must be no less than three.

Okay so with 1.1.1. the wording used before in regards to the number of seats was a bit confusing so I cleared it up to make it easier to understand. 1.1.1.1. So here's the big one mostly everyone i think can agree we don't need a dictator so this is an amendment in order to stop that from happening.

2.Judges will be appointed to, or dismissed from the supreme court by a two-thirds majority vote in the parliament.Followed by approval by a one-third vote of all the citizens per judge. There shall always be at least three judges on the Supreme Court.

3.The court's duties are as follows: They shall have the power to oversee domestic disputes in accordance with our laws. They shall have the power to try anyone found to not be upholding our constitution, or committing acts against the government such as treason.They shall have the power to try people found to be breaking our laws.

So with 2. I added a second step to becoming a judge in that the people must vote in the councils appointments. This is to combat the collection of power within the council so that the judges are answerable to the people first not to the council that appoints them. with this first court if you allow us we would like to appoint it to speed up the proceedings so we may focus on more important things such as getting a pylon. 3. is there to actually enumerate the courts powers so it is not left vague and up for too much interpretation.

1.2.3.Ministers do not have any authority or executive powers that has not been granted to them in this constitution or through an act of law.

1.2.3.1.Furthermore, Ministers are expected to present to the council a plan of action in regards to their specific subject with details regarding how they shall achieve the goals they set forth.

So 1.2.3.1 was added in order to actually have the ministers beholden to achieving goals so they are pushed to actually work towards their ministries subject area.

So those are all the amendments we are proposing for referendum we believe all of them are for the common good of Sidon but as always we serve the people and this is an open forum. If there are any changes or edits you would like to see to these post a comment down below and we shall discuss it.
