1.) Identify key world properties missing from CivCraft
Key world properties are things about the real world that were necessary for civilization to emerge on earth the way it did. Key properties may be things like, "Food being scarce overall", or "Food being abundant in certain rare tiny regions".
The way I hope this will work is, members propose things they believe might be key properties, and discussion follows. The first goal of discussion should be to reason our way to agreeing about whether or not the proposed world property played an essential role in making civilization emerge. If consensus agreement is reached that X is in fact a key property, we add it to an ongoing list.
2.) Find technical solutions
Finding a way to model a key world property involves creativity, and there may be many approaches available. So it is likely that consensus will not always form around one specific fix. If our discussions result in multiple alternative approaches, we should accept all solutions with strong support and include them as alternatives in the blueprint we release.
3.) Write the white paper.
The paper should have a narrative portion where we present a summary of each key world property we identified and give our reasoned justification for considering it to be a key property. Our approach(es) for attemping to model each property in game should also be summarised.
The paper must also have a technical portion detailing each recommended plugin and setting or range of settings, and any other technical implementation details.
Co-author credits should go to editors as well as discussion participants.
