JellyTom was grilled in this week's Prime Minister's Questions (16-19 March) with questions regarding the Anglo-American defence treaty in which DrCaeserMD was forced to resign as Defence Secretary.
In this week's Prime Minister's Questions, which concluded today, the prime minister, /u/JellyTom was faced with criticism from the Labour Party, the Green Party, and the Earl of Dwyfor - a crossbencher, regarding Monday's Anglo-American defence deal.
He was also asked questions regarding the press inquiry, grammar schools and the state of the government in less than three weeks since this government took office.
'This house needs clarity'
The Earl of Dwyfor, /u/Demon4372, a Crossbench Lord asked the prime minister about the 'lack of clarity' in the UK-US Eurofighter deal. He claimed that multiple members of the government were giving 'unclear and sometimes contradictory answers' and that 'this house needs clarity'.
He criticised the fact that the United Kingdom is giving the United States a discount on Eurofighters while other countries do not have this advantage. He claimed that the whole deal was an 'unorganised mess'.
The prime minister replied that he made his feelings about the 'factually incorrect' deal to the Secretary of State for Defence very clear. He announced that the newly elected Conservative MP /u/Spindleton will take over as Defence Secretary.
'You are either an incompetent or a liar, which is it?'
/u/Powerpab, Green MP for Yorkshire South and East questioned the prime minister about the press inquiry. He accused the government of being increasingly 'unliberal' because of the prime minister's comments about regulating the press and some 'unsavoury' comments made by the International Development Secretary, /u/Ctrlaltlama.
He asked the prime minister whether he plans to make any liberal reforms and if not, then 'he has betrayed the very values his voters elected him for. Either the prime minister is an incompetent or a liar, which is it?'
The Speaker of the House of Commons, /u/Padanub told off /u/Powerpab for breaking the parliamentary code of conduct.
The prime minister replied to him by saying that he is in fact an 'incompetent liar' and prefers to stick to the truth. He said that it is 'beyond him' that the Liberal Democrats were betraying the electorate.
'The most shambolic government'
'When will the prime minister resign?' was the question put to the prime minister by the Radical Socialist Shadow Secretary of State for Education, /u/AlanBstard.
The prime minister simply replyed, 'Never'.
/u/AlanBstard then said that the prime minister has 'presided over the most shambolic government since Charles I'.
These comments made by some members of the Radical Socialists were deemed 'rubbish' by many fellow Liberal Democrats.
'No bounds'
UKIP MP /u/RoadToTheShow attacked the government for 'breaking their coalition agreement' in regards to the policy of grammar schools.
He asked the prime minister why the government rejected /u/Duncs11's Grammar Schools Bill and whether this was because it was submitted by UKIP.
/u/JellyTom replied that he was looking to repair the trust between the Liberal Democrats and UKIP. No bill was whipped specifically because of the author, he said.
The UKIP MP for East of England was having none of this and said that a way to repair trust between the parties would be to stick to the coalition agreement.
'The last time we were in coalition and broke a coalition agreement we were kicked from the opposition,' he explained. /u/RoadToTheShow demanded an apology from the prime minister and the chief whip.
He went on to say, 'It seems the Lib Dems and the government, have no bounds to what promises they break'.
