My fellow Nords of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden,

I have no desire for war, especially between brothers. That is what we are, brothers. Brothers bicker and fight, but come together in the end. Now, I don't know if your current revolts will hold true under judgement, but that is not for me to decide. I intend to act. I do not wish for a continuation of the Kalmar Union. Instead, I propose a different sort of union. We set aside our differences, and join together. Each country shall remain in control of it's own lands and rule them as they see fit. However, for international matters, we shall act as one nation. All international deals done with one country must be approved of and affect the other two as well. Within the borders of this nation, there will be no bitterness of the past, only the glory of the future. Our armies and navies shall fight as one, we will trade as one, we will act as one, we will die as one. Our current borders, with slight modifications, will serve for dividing the responsibilities of each kingdom. Yes, you all three shall remain kings, but none more powerful than the other.

I propose a unification of the Nordic powers. Together, we are more powerful than most countries, but separate, we are weak. All previous alliances, and I mean all of them, will be cast aside, and only those deemed best for all three nations will be allowed to happen. Trade profits shall go to all nations based on a system to be voted upon, whether by population or need or some other method.

To decide upon the international matters, a diplomat and some assistants shall be decided by all three nations. This diplomat will hold all necessary talks with foreign powers and relay the information back to a common forum to be debated upon by ourselves. This diplomat will negotiate on behalf of the Nordic countries, but will not guarantee anything without prior approval of all three.

Now, to facilitate this union, the three of you will need to get together and discuss terms. Upon successfully negotiations, all hatred and bitterness will be forgiven, on all sides, and we shall all turn our attentions to the future. A future where the Nordic Union is a single nation to be feared and respected, a model to be looked up to, and a place we can all peacefully call home.
