6:40pm 100mg seroquel, 2 nurofen, nasal decongestant Am I drug addict? Signs are lighting up "exit to drug dependence left lane must exit 1km... 500 meters... 100 meters" and I'm still cruising along not really planning to swap lanes any time soon. I've abused the hell out of drugs but I feel like there is still a lot of untapped potential. I've barely touched opioids, still a bunch of stims I have to actually do shit on yet and the ever expanding world of hallucinogenic substances just keeps churning out new experiences. Benzo's aren't my thing, I can't do anything on depressants but still I search through the medicine cabinet hoping mum's forgotten about her prescription Valium for the almost hospitalising migraines she gets. That's a drug addict, taking from others just so I can get a buzz. Have you tried to live my life sober though? You can't do it. If it was legal I could just smoke weed every night and probably function like a normal human being. Instead I'm prescribed pills that could permanently fuck my brain chemistry so bad I could become the closest thing to an actual zombie, simply existing not feeling. Fuck that I'll take my chances with other things that if they fuck me over at least I had a good time doing it. I'd be happy knocking back a hand full of assorted pills right now, anything to feel. To experience. Well what's the harm? Other than the fact I could fry my brain for the rest of my life? On drugs I do things. You want a no life loser? A kid who sits in his room addicted to computer games. Even the most hardcore of addicts have more social interaction than that kid. Meth addicts provide a fluid economy for a lot of people who wouldn't have money in the first place. Everyone dropping MD is doing it with at least 5 other people because doing it alone is shit. Mushies get you get good exercise, not just picking but the fuck ton of movement you do when tripping. LSD is creating artists and musicians expressing what it is to be human in today's day and age. You have to be part of society to do drugs. You need people skills, patience, control, knowledge and that uncanny ability to recognise people with problems. Each drug has a culture because each one forces you to think differently. Weed smokers have a few mates over every other night just catch up and have a sesh. When people start being violent, loud or plain obnoxious you don't think "Man this guy needs to sober up" the first thing every experienced person knows, get 2 comes of straight green into them ASAP. Suddenly that dickhead bumping in to everything is sitting in the couch looking out into space lost in thought assessing his life. He's not going to change but next time you say "jeez mate you need to sit down for a bit" they'll take it closer to their heart. Violent crime dropped at the local club when ecstasy started being sold. LSD changed the outlook on life for everyone who took it, they understand a bit more about their place in life.
