On p.3, Bohm plainly states that the "problem of communication" (of which I am not yet convinced) is caused by each person "hear[ing] the other through the screen of his own thoughts, which he tends to maintain and defend, regardless of whether or not they are true or coherent."
Once again, I cannot tell if he is making a thesis he intends to prove later on, or trying to get me to agree to his definition of the problem without proving his case. I'm not disputing the statement, but I'm not granting him that it's true either -- he hasn't yet made the case.
Couldn't there be other causes as well? I think there would have to be, since the problem itself was not stated very well to begin with!
I wonder if he will address other potential causes of miscommunication...
