Announcing the reopening of the r/bestofbestof community.
Reddit throws up some amazing comments, along with a flood of not-so-amazing ones. That's where r/bestof steps in, acting as a filter to catch the best posts that Reddit produces. It's done a fairly decent job of that over the years.
But r/bestof has grown to the point where it's much more than a small community of curators. With over a million subscribers, and a position as one of the default subreddits, it's almost a mini-Reddit of its own—with a much more focused purpose, but with the same problems of quantity beginning to compete with quality. Many submissions to r/bestof come with complaints in the comment page that "this is not bestof". It's time to add another level to the pyramid.
Enter r/bestofbestof, a community "for featuring only the very best comments that r/bestof has to offer". The concept is simple—we're a filter on top of a filter. r/bestof points you to Reddit comments that are better than the vast majority of Reddit comments. r/bestofbestof points you to r/bestof submissions that are better than the vast majority of other r/bestof submissions.
Submission is now open again. Enjoy!
