It was a cool night at the Jersey shore when James decided to take a break from his family at the boardwalk. He looked at his phone. No text messages, nothing on snapchat. He took a deep breath and tried to ignore the sick feeling in his stomach.

The lights and sounds of the boardwalk weren't helping. The space filled with happy couples and families churned the sick feeling in his body. James felt like he was limping as he exited onto a dark street where a motel stood. It's small parking lot was dimly lit by the lights from the buildings roof.

"what you looking for kid?" a guy in a red hat said to James intensely. James took a step back, unsure what to say, confused.

"Either you're here to get down or you're here to get lit up, so tell me what's up with you"

"How much?" the street guy looked James up and down and wiped his nose. His fingers wouldn't stop moving, putting James on edge.
