That this Parliament–

Recognises that global average temperature, atmospheric greenhouse gases and ocean acidity are already at dangerous levels;
Notes that around the world, climate change impacts are already causing loss of life and destroying vital ecosystems;
Declares that we are facing a climate emergency; and
Commits to restoring a safe climate by transforming the economy to zero net emissions.

This motion is being read in the House of Assembly. Members of the public may debate. This motion was written by Mark Parnell MLC, and sponsored by later_slater1407 MP, Minister for Environment and Water. The period for voting will expire on 2 March 2020, 3:00PM.
