I've decided to pull the trigger on a Zero DSR. After weeks of research, I'm still unclear on which models and years are most prone to issues so I'm looking for some feedback from the community here. I've narrowed it down to a few options:
- 2018 DSR 14.4kwh - 4,128 miles - $5500
- 2021 DSR w/ABS - 14.4kwh - 802 miles - $9k
- 2023 DSR - 14.4kwh - 650 miles (demo) - $9900
- 2023 DSR/X - 17.3kwh - New - $15k
For 1 & 2, the seller is not a Zero dealer and is not able to retrieve and send the log files. But they are a very reputable motorsports dealer.
I'm an experienced rider getting back into it after a few years without. I'll mostly use it for my 20 mile rt commute, around the city running around, and weekend rides on curves and dirt roads / hard trails.
Other than the right bike and fit, I generally prefer used vehicles where I can scout for the best deal / value and rarely buy brand new for that reason. With this, I'm a little concerned about the battery issues of older models and uncertainty on the maintenance and warranty history for these... Or, I've been reading too many forum messages about it.
So, WWYB? Any feedback or recommendations are welcome...
