Got VLR spoiled for me, are there still surprises left?

Last week I bought Danganronpa, 999, and VLR. I finished Danganronpa last night, and when reading a spoiler thread afterwards I stumbled across 2 major VLR spoilers: the fact that it's actually set on the moon and that a virus has destroyed humanity
So will knowing this ruin the game for me? Are these the only major plot twists, or are there more that will still surprise me? Is it still worth playing now that I know these things?
