Bad wifi strength for plex streaming? Model GA503QR
Post Body

tldr: plex streams work fine on older laptop on same network but not g15

Okay so this may be a bit out there in terms of questions fielded in this sub, but I'm going to ask here because I don't know where else I may get a good answer.

I have a plex server that is remote from me, everything is set up properly for remote streaming. Some of the media files are extremely large (~50-80gb 4k REMUXES) but I figured that it wouldn't be an issue as I have enough bandwidth on both the remote network and this one.

This, however, seems to be where the issue arises. The laptop buffers every couple seconds even though I KNOW there's enough bandwidth on both ends. It can only handle smaller files, up to 12mbps. Anything past that and it buffers.

Now, here's the weird part: my other, older laptop (Lenovo Yoga 720) CAN PLAY THESE FILES FINE ON THE SAME NETWORK!

Is it the wifi card in the g15 that is the issue? I read that it's not great and the wifi 6 fucks everything up. With that being said, I don't want to void my warranty as I just got it. All my drivers are up to date as well.

Please if anyone has any ideas (or a fix) let me know! I would be very grateful.
