What are supposed to be the benefits of BIOS update 313?

So, with all the doom and gloom going around about BIOS update 313, and me being in the apparent minority of people that updated without knowing about and issue, and haven't had any issues, I'm wondering what the actual good changes to the BIOS are supposed to be?

I've read a mention of a 100% improvement to Minecraft performance, and something about being able to use the most up-to-date Radeon drivers, but what are the in-game effects of this on other games? (I play modded Skyrim AE and FO4, RDR2 and GTA V)
