First time repasting and using thermal pad replacement

Going to be repasting and throwing some K5 pro on my G14 today and I'm a little nervous. Any tips would be appreciated especially regarding using the K5 pro since I've heard a few mixed opinions on it. I've had some people tell me to remove all the paste off the Vram for the k5 and some have said to only remove some of it.
