Howdy folks.

I‘ve decided to buy the G14, and all that’s left for me is to decide which model to get. I’ll be using it mostly for school related projects, and I’ll be using Blender and video editing software like Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve (probably DaVinci because I wont have the money to pay for an Adobe subscription lol). I’m also planning on playing games like Warzone 2.0 or Forza from time to time at home, but honestly really good graphics don’t matter much to me, I just want the game to run at most at 80 FPS at 1080p high graphics.

Considering my budget of roughly $1200 (don’t live anywhere near the US though so no Best Buy unfortunately), I can either buy a 2022 G14 with a Ryzen7 6800HS and an RX 6700S, or a 2023 G14 with a Ryzen7 7735HS and an RTX 3050. They both cost basically the same, and both have 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD. Far as I’m concerned the gap between the 6800HS and the 7735HS isn’t massive, so I’m not concerned much about the CPU, but considering how the 6700S is comparable to a 3060 or even a 3070, the 6700S seems like a much better option for gaming than the 3050. The 2022 version just seems better considering how it also has better battery life.

Almost sounded like a no brainer, but considering how being able to use Blender and productive software will always be more important for me than being able to play games well, it’s making me prefer the 3050 considering how Radeon graphics don’t perform incredibly well in Blender. I’m also a sucker for that Nvidia sticker lol.

I’m currently torn between the two and would appreciate your opinions and your experiences with your G14s.
