My Time Spy score and G-Helper settings to fix BIOS 310: https://imgur.com/a/LYP9IRn
Ok, so I know some people have been sticking with BIOS 306 on the 2023 G14 because of how good the Silent mode is. Original thread where I go into detail on this: Don't Update to BIOS 310 If You Like a Good Silent Mode - Asus Please Fix This
Well I finally decided to see if I could somehow make BIOS 310 work using G-Helper. And I'm sad that I forgot to try this sooner because yes it completely solves the problem. So BIOS 310's stock behavior in Silent mode is it throttles your GPU down to around 50-55 watts when it hits the super low limit of 75C which of course it's going to hit that very quickly when you're doing something even slightly demanding with that low of fan speed. This was dumb tuning, shame on Asus. Makes gaming almost impossible in Silent mode. BUT with G-Helper you can select Silent mode but then set the thermal limit higher yourself and then turn down dynamic boost, and turn your CPU levels down a bit, and now you're getting that quiet fan noise but INSANE performance! I'm now hitting a 16.5K graphics score in Time Spy in Silent mode on BIOS 310! That's like 2-3k higher than the stock BIOS 306 Silent mode which I was already very pleased with! So with G-Helper, when the GPU hits that throttle limit (I set mine to 82C), instead of throttling down to 50-55w, it throttles down to like 75-85w, which is still very feasible for gaming. This discovery at least for me literally makes the G14 one of the best silent gaming machines out there!
I'm curious to see other users' experience trying out this method!
And an update for any YouTube subscribers on here, I'm still working on the G14 review (finding new things every day apparently! But I love it) and will be doing a full comprehensive video on G-Helper since it is such a vital piece of software now for these laptops.
