How did you establish your goal weight?

I started at 252.5. I’m just over 2 months in and I’m already down 28 lbs.
Initially my goal was 199 but it was just an arbitrary number.
Was your goal scientific in anyway?
My plan is to discuss with my Dr in two weeks but I would like to see others’ strategies.
Edit: BMI chart says 177 is the heaviest healthy weight. So I guess I will have to cut my arm off.
