Will the setup of NAS to store your music files and then access it by other computer affect sound quality?

I noticed some users put their flac files or music files in a NAS type setup. Isn't that a wifi accessed setup where the client computer accessess the file wirelessly from the NAS? Will this affect sound quality compared to storing it locally on your computer? Why do people use NAS if it will lower sound quality? Thanks.
