I've been thinking about some of the inconsistencies within the series that often get pointed out. Namely the conflicting information about the nature of demon world and the inconsistent class ratings of demons. I thought that perhaps a lot of these things could be explained by Koenma just not knowing what he's talking about. Most of the information that is relayed to the main cast and to the viewers is done so by Koenma. And after re-watching a few of the scenes where he briefs team Urameshi, I can't help but get the feeling that Koenma is just making things up whenever he's pressed for an answer.

I guess it would make sense that he wouldn't be very reliable, given his age and level of experience compared to his father. I'm just curious if anyone else on here has had a similar idea, or if you've doubted Koenma's judgement and his often conflicting explanations.
