Was excited when I first saw this show, namely because of Brian Cranston. Thought about getting Showtime for it until I saw mixed reviews, but figured when I saw it hit Netflix I’d give it a try.
Unfortunately, after watching season one I can see why it didn’t take off. Here on Reddit I see a lot about the writing, which is totally justified and I agree, but I think the bigger issue is the acting.
The majority of it feels unbelievably corny, and very overacted. The entire Baxter family is brutal to watch. It truly feels like a bad lifetime movie whenever they are on screen. Adam is a tough watch especially.
I have more thoughts, but to me the acting all around is just not great.
