Many of you have expressed interest in sending a card or letter to Youngluck.

He likes mail. He will like mail from you. So don't be shy.

There are certain things you can do to increase the likelihood that your correspondence will easily make it into the hands of Youngluck.

Incoming mail is opened and inspected. Outgoing mail may be read and inspected by staff.

Keys to a happy envelope...

Put a complete return address on your envelope, i.e., letters from BigSucka in The Big Apple won’t make it through.

Address the letter to Youngluck as shown on the sidebar to your right.

Mail must be delivered through the US Postal service.

Envelopes that are padded, have bubble wrap, or have metal parts will be rejected.

Things you can include in your envelope

Yes! You can include photos, provided that they do not include nudity. Photos can either be printed on paper or the regular kind. If you are sending photos that are not printed on paper, they must have Youngluck's real name and prisoner number printed on the back of each one, or the mailroom will not deliver them. Photos are limited to ten or less per envelope. This includes photos on paper. For example, a Reddit printout with five titles and ten up and down arrows will get through. One banner ad in addition and it will be rejected.

Thou shalt not enclose money.

They will also not pass along SASE (self addressed stamped envelopes) or even regular stamps (for fear that you may have put something interesting on them for licking).
Similarly, cards with yarn or string decoration on them (that might have been used to soak up a substance) will be rejected. No glitter or stickers. Cards larger than 8”x10”, singing cards, etc. will not get through.

Blank paper will make them wonder what you are doing. Youngluck does have access to paper, so no worries.

Number all of your pages.

Avoid paper clips or staples (anything metal). Again, no stickers.

While it's fine to talk about your neighborhood, city or town, please do not include any maps.

Postcard are also okay.

The aftermath

With all good luck, your correspondence will make it through the turnkeys and brighten the day of Youngluck.

How long will it take for Youngluck to get your mail? That depends entirely on how much other mail the prison is processing on any given day/in any given week.

Special note for foreign correspondents: Foreign correspondence is welcome!

It needs to be in English (prison regulations), and must be delivered through the US Postal Service. It should not be delivered through UPS or alternate carriers; the prison mailroom will not process it unless it comes from the US Postal Service.

Please be aware that at this time, foreign correspondents will not receive a reply until we can work out a system. (He cannot send international mail directly from the prison.) He is holding on to all foreign mail sent to him, so thank you!
