I've seen a couple of people bring this up as a possibility and since its the final season and she's largely what made Joe who he later became it would be nice to tie it together next season.

maybe have Joe use his new money and resources to track her down he purposely waits until her now grown up son isn't around and he visits her it would be nice if we just had most of an episode of just them talking about the past about the reasons she left and why she never came back for him.

and eventually it does end with Joe killing her after confessing to everything he went on to do during his life and putting the blame solely on her with her final moments seeing the true monster she helped create.

and maybe Joe finds he isn't satisfied stopping there and the finale of the series is him going after his younger brother who he feels stole his life and there's a big showdown between them and also whoever will be returning to bring him down next season be it Marianne and Nadia or even DR Nicky or maybe a family member of Edwards who doesn't buy Joe's frame Job of Nadia killing him who knows.
