At first just rumors, tales of women disappearing as they travel through the city at night, make the rounds through the city's taverns and brothels.

Then a reward poster goes up for finding and recovering - alive - the guildmaster's daughter, who vanished the night before.

Most rumors point to the lakeside park as the most likely place of the disappearances, and it's surprisingly dark despite the Continual Flame lampposts that line the paths every few dozen yards. Foolishly, perhaps suicidally, there are couples and even the occasional lone person walking the paths.
