I was playing Uncharted 3 and i got to the part of thΓ© story that takes part in Yemen and fell in love with the city. I added it to my future destinations list and looked for places to visit. I just have 3 words : Wasted Touristic Potentiel. People should know more about the beauty of this country. Was Yemen a tourists destination before the insurgencies? What other reasons may stop it from becoming one ?
A country becoming a tourist destination is never a good thing it drives the native ppl out of the land due to the inflation caused by higher popularity in touring. Plus all of those beautiful resorts on third world nations are never even seen by the ppl of the land but rather the tourists. Basically gentifries the land pushing the native people out, we have seen this happen to Hawaiians.
At a good balance tourism can be good, but it can't overtake the lives of the indigenous ppl to the land.
