I’m sure this has been brought up but I just started the show and am on season 3.
I get riding horses might preserve the grass or some shit and I guess it’s the cowboy thing to do, but come one, it wouldn’t be that hard to dig out a little dirt trail and get around for way less it cost to take care of 12 fucking horses.
And before you bring up herding the cattle won’t work in utvs - my family has a ranch in west Texas (admittedly no where near as pretty) but none the less has cattle. The dumb fucks follow the cart where ever it goes because they know that’s where there food comes from.
Idk I definitely get having horses because it’s way cooler but it just seems silly not to have a few utvs to cruise around in when your tired or drunk or it’s dark out. I feel like any ranch that size would have at least a few
