Theory for man in the trailer

I think he's the skeleton cabin guy, and we're seeing a flashback of some sort that shows a little bit of his history. I think it would also be pretty sick if he was the one who created and carved the symbol everywhere, and that's the scene we're actually seeing, the history of the symbol.
