Black Shark 4 connecting to 2.4ghz Wifi on its own

Bought my first Xiaomi phone today. Got it home and started setting it up using my 5ghz wifi network. Later that evening I was configuring settings in my router and saw a MAC address with the name Beijing Xiaomi Mobile Software connected to my 2ghz signal while also seeing a listing for the Black Shark on my 5ghz network. Havent setup any other new tech and my network usage app inside my router shows this having been connected at almost the exact same time I had started setting up the Black Shark.

I am hoping somewhere can explain this or let me know I am going crazy. The phone shows its connected to 5ghz not 2.4ghz so I am very confused.
