I suppose movies are still violent but it seems like there used to be so much graphic violence in even the most mainstream movies. Take for example Raiders Of The Lost Arc, if you haven't seen it in years.. take a look at it again, the violence will make your eyes pop out...And Raiders was a completely mainstream "family friendly" movie at the time. I remember seeing it in the theatre at 6 years old with the audience being filled with families and kids and everyone just laughed and cheered and nothing seemed amiss.
