Post Body

With the Alien Hunter DLC the Berserker has received a number of direct and indirect buffs in the multiplayer mode that resulted in it becoming one of the, if not THE most point efficient unit in the game. Being able to double move and attack with a whopping 15 mobility (tied for second in the game) means that Berserkers can now charge out of the fog of war and into melee range. 20HP is enough to survive most overwatch ambushes (especially with shield) Their attack is an 80% hit chance melee with an likelyhood to stun or instantly incapacitate any bio units it hits. I used them prior to the patch as shields for chrysalids, but now they stand on their own.

Its biggest counters (sectopods, heavy gunners, grenadiers, and phantoms) were all nerfed via an increased point cost. Zerker comps excel against small, high-point armies due to their ability to stunlock multiple targets. Berserkers remain weak to psi operatives using mind control, but if you can close the gap without getting mind controlled chances are you'll just one shot them. Andromedons may fair better, but since no one seems to run them I haven't been able to test it.

Expect to see a huge increase in the number of 3 and 4 berserker squads coming up in multiplayer. Calling it now, Zerkers are the new Officers.
