Is there a mod that eliminates or minimizes the management side of the game?

My dad loved to play Laser Squad, the spiritual successor to the original XCOM game, and I think he’d have a blast with XCOM. However, the management side of things wouldn’t be in his wheelhouse, and he’d much prefer to just play the missions anyway. Is there a mod, or some other method, of eliminating or at least minimizing the management side of the game, so that he can focus solely on the missions?
