And help me process my feelings so I can feel less crappy about it?

Local streaming is just that, right? The stream isn't being sent somewhere, right? It's just going from the Xbox to the router to my phone?

My problem is that the Series X is not living up to it's promise. Those 12 tflops don't do $#!t to make a better streaming experience. And I say that because my 1X is hardwired to the same router and it produces a stream with no quality issues. The Series X has a gross case of pixelization. Snapping between menus on the home screen and and all games suffer from it at some point or another. Doom Eternal, Gears 5 and even tiny little Neon Abyss. The games aren't unplayable but I don't understand how or why this new box has any issue. Even with the display settings set to 720.

So for comparison I tried streaming the same games from Game Pass I assume are streamed remotely and they all play very well with none of the issues. And this is all from the same router.

Then I test drove Amazon Luna. Wow. Very smooth. Redout, Metro, Rez ♾️. I think my Series X would have choked steaming a game like Rez. And again all from the same router.

Clearly this all has me pretty frustrated. If I just wanted to stream a few, meh games I'd pick Luna. I want my Xbox library with instant on and quick resume. I already sent it back to Microsoft for warranty service and they sent it back without fixing anything. I guess my next step is to try and exchange it but I doubt how quickly or smoothly that will go.

The Series X has the power to be a streaming beast, right? Did I just get a bad box? Thanks for any input.
