Non wheel racing controllers?

WAY BACK in the ps1 days I had a racing controller that was basically a wired RC controller to play the original Gran Turismo. It was fantastic. Anyway I’m looking for a good racing controller that allows for more fine control than the Xbox controller but I REALLY don’t want to invest the money or space into a full wheel setup. Is there anything out there?
