Game Pass game was working fine, now wont open and trying to install a second time

So I was playing it just fine for the last few weeks, this morning even, and I go to start the game on the desktop shortcut and get an error message stating "This app cant open". So I go to it on the xbox app and it has a prompt to "update", which I do. After a few minutes I go back to it and notice the update is 117 GB!!! It appears to be reinstalling the game for some reason. In the Xbox app in my history it says the game is installed. In WindowsApp\MSIXVC, there are the install files from 06/12 when I originally installed the game. Now I cant play but I dont want another 100 GB install on my drive. What to do??!!?
