New player, and no one to play against!

So I just picked this up a few weeks ago, but there's no organized play near me! I know there are a few online options for playing, which is preferred by the community? And how do I find opponents/and or teachers so I can get some table time?

UPDATE: I just found out there is a store in Worcester that is running a tourney THIS SATURDAY, and I've decided to dive in! Woohoo!
