I'm looking at possibly purchasing a 2017 Crosstrek in the coming week and I randomly came across a comment on the r/subaru page mentioning the necessity of an automatic if planning on taking a Crosstrek offroad.
Of course, there was no further information provided but I wanted to come here and ask if there is any truth to this. I'm looking at getting a manual transmission but do plan to go offroad quite a bit in South Texas.
Thanks for any information, y'all!
EDIT: Thank y'all for all of the information. We went last night and gave it a test drive, the dealership was able to get us almost right where we wanted to be on our trade and it felt great so we bought the damn thing. Happy trekking!
