2014 - RPMs surging, dash lights come on and stops accelerating

Been having issues with my 2014 with 170k miles on it. Driving as usual the RPMs begin to rev up and way down, 4wd and traction lights come on followed by check engine. Then the car just rolls along until I loose momentum.
It restarts after turning it off and back on but it happened again immediately after luckily I was close enough to get home.
I checked the alternator and it’s good to go, I cleaned all the connections and made sure there was nothing loose under the hood. Could it be the fuel injector?
