Inpatient Assessment: Sarian, Samantha
Samantha âSammyâ Sarian is a Mutant who was formerly a spy for the MRD under the direction of the Skrullian Skymaster. The project saw 271 attempts, though many were earmarked as failures early on. With the Skrull's death, his ongoing projects were shut down and the finances budgeted to other departments. As such, Samantha due to not achieving the high expectations the MRD placed upon the Skrullâs assets, she was scheduled for termination. This was mostly an excuse to purge as many costs as possible, and few of the remaining agents survived. Samantha was Iteration 209 of the Skrull Infiltration Mission Program (SIMP).
The X-Men, as led by Scott Summers, discovered Samantha in a mass grave after a raid on a minor MRD Outpost. The Skrullâs project had been disassembled, and many of the bodies within followed suit. By luck, Samantha had somehow escaped termination, and wound up the only survivor in a mass grave. She doesnât remember how that happened, however. Samantha was rescued and brought to the Institute, where she now remains. She imparted what information she could, but has since fallen into some kind of exhaustive coma.
Samantha doesnât remember her life before the MRD, and can only remember so much of her life during the process. This isnât uncommon, and has been referred to as Blanking by various sources.
Samantha Sarian is a Two-Fold Mutant. This has made her a fantastic individual for the espionage program. First and foremost, Samantha has the capabilities of changing her physical appearance. Commonly this is the form of a biological woman, but Samantha has also demonstrated various other gender and sexual appearances. Weâre not certain where she garners the additional mass from, but it's hypothesised she is capable of compressing matter and self-storing it.
In addition, Samantha is capable of self-replication. With focus, Samantha can create an accurate individual from her own physicality. Weâve seen this before in Multiple Man, but we havenât seen this mutation in concert in this way. The Mutation appears to express itself in a manner not dissimilar to single-cell division. Even with the hypothesis of matter compression, the required energy expenditure hasnât yet been accounted for. Her caloric intake, whilst often high, cannot account for all the requirements. To date, Samantha has been seen with two additional replicants. But I donât doubt her propensity for more. She also claims to be able to take the form of an American Crow when needed.
If we can appeal to Samantha, we may be able to make use of her talents for espionage in a more constructive and responsible environment. Her ability to alter her appearance, self-replicate and then change once more makes her an impressive member of the Instituteâs growing roster of noteworthy individuals. Being able to work in tandem with yourself is a skill few can claim to possess.
However, I worry for her ability to socialise and how this may affect her time with us. We should prioritise social development and worldly understanding before equipping her into the field, as her current beliefs often trend towards an untrusting and cynical nature. Failure to do so could seriously hamper her mental and physical health.
In conclusion, Samantha possesses a surprisingly capable âshape changingâ ability that rivals that of Raven. Whilst her self-replication ability likely rivals that of Madrox, Iâve only witnessed two replicants at any one time.
Please contact me for further information. I am happy to help in any way I can.
Doctor Donald Blake
Name and Alias: Samantha Sarian (Agent-209)
Faction: Institute
Age and Date of Birth: Uncertain
Physical Description: Samantha is somewhat ethnically ambigious in her typical appearance. With dark hair that borders on purple. It;s the only notable aspect of her appearance, in truth. Portrait
Personality Description: Sammy uses snark and sass to protect herself. This is because she's in an unknown world, that she's only seen through the lens of espionage. She's curious but cynical, as everyone has something to hide. But she is supportive, and will go out of her way to aid people no matter what the matter is.
Mutation: Shapeshifting. Samantha can change her appearance, much like Mystique. Simple. Samantha can also take the shape of an American Crow. Self-Replication. Samantha can replicate herself twice. These two replicants must remain within a mile range of Samantha. Failure to do so results in death. Each Replicant bears independence, and any knowledge is recovered by Samantha Prime. Replicants cannot shapeshift, nor they can self-replicate further. In concert, these two abilities allow Samantha to change her appearance, self-replicate this new appearance, and then take another apperance afterwards.
Skills: Intended for espionage, Samantha has a wide ranging skillset including Martial Arts that allows her to bring down foreign operatives or other impediments. She's fully capable with a wide variety of weapons, and will put them all to use as needed. She's a master of information gathering, having a notable memory. She's also capable of speaking English, Spanish and French-Canadian.
Points Distribution: 9 to Physical. 3 to Control. 3 to Potency.
Samantha awakens, and her first instinct is to seek out food. She rises from the hospital bed and makes her way out into the corridor. Dr. Blake didn't mind her wandering, in fact he promoted that she do so. Get her mind in gear, just make sure to return periodically so he could track her energy levels. She didn't see the need, and had offered up some choice words at this idea. She was beginning to see the merit, however, with how exhausted she still felt. At lest Dr. Blake had been kind enough to find clothes that fit her. A fleece and leggings meant for running in, but it was comfortable. His large stick and steely eyes belied some kindness.
With confidence, the purplehead makes her way into the kitchen and starts looking for something to eat. A sandwhich? PB&J? Yeah. PB&J. Samantha collects the ingredients and got to work, spreading it out onto the bread in sheer silence. Listening to the movement of people and objects throughout the vicinity. People never really noticed how much their words carried.
