A little misdirection never hurt anyone. What at first seems to be a case connected to the UFO phenomenon, is in actuality something else entirely.

When a man is found drained of blood along with two puncture wounds on his neck, Mulder and Scully are called in to investigate. At first, Mulder is convinced the man's death is similar to cattle mutilation cases, but as always Scully feels differently. Adding to the mystery is a second death that is eerily similar, but on the other side of the country. Turns out both men had daughters the same age, and strangely, the same appearance. Deep Throat shows up and gives Mulder the key to solving the case, and in the end, what the agents discover is shocking.

This is an interesting episode with a good bit going on. Knowing what comes later in the series, this installment can almost be considered both mythology and MOTW. The actresses playing the girls do a great job at playing creepy, and they easily give off a Shining kind of vibe.

The idea of cloning is questionable in itself, and the thought of cloning humans is extremely controversial. That being said, genetic engineering is a common thing these days, especially when it comes to the things we eat.

Disturbing Moment: The discovery of the exsanguinated man, and the girls were just creepy all around.
