I've been playing FPS shooters for almost 18 years. I'm not a .1% player, but I'm easily top .5%. I only solo q because my friends aren't into this game, and my ELO is about 3,100. I've played FPS's competitively for 14 years as well.
When I got the game, I decided to get gold for each gun, good goal to set. I currently have 5 days played, or 120 hours. I have 13 level 50 guns. My plan was to get every gun to level 50 (halfway to gold) and then reset and get every level 50 gun to gold. At the point of the update I had 13 gold guns. Its also worth noting I average about 50 kills a game. You're telling me, that after 120 hours (I abused the fuck out of the double xp weekends too, every one), and not even being 50% of the way to all gold camos, that the grind is too short and people are overreacting? I still have a bunch of guns to get halfway (7 guns) before I could even hit pre patch 50% camo completion. Lets say it takes me 180 hours to get all guns to level 50 (pretty fair math). That means its 360 hours, or fifteen days played pre patch to get all gold.
The new update over doubles that. But lets keep it at double for nice round numbers. If you are a good player, dropping around 50 kills a game, it wll take you at least 30 days of gameplay to get all gold. Idc what you say, most gamers do NOT hit 30 days played on one game, let alone a bunch over the course of a year.
I'm bad at math, forgive me if I fucked it up, but 360 hours is silly (and that's on the low end, more realistically 400-ish hours.) This does not even factor in that most people can't pull 6 hours on double XP weekends like I've been able to the last few weekends.
