Annual Fee not waved for Military Data Point (X1 Plus)

So I did just get the upgrade for X1 Plus and when I asked about waving the fee for active duty military this was the response
" Thank you for your service! We appreciate your decision to become an X1 Plus Member and enjoy the associated benefits. Regrettably, at this time, we do not offer a waiver of the $75 X1 Plus Membership fee for active-duty military members. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."
To be honest I thought it was standard to waive these fees but I could be wrong.
