Post Body

Hello r/WrittenRoleplay, my old friend. It's been a while since I've posted a serious partner search. For some time, I adventured around the less commendable roleplaying hotspots--or what might best be described in the Roleplaying World as 'The Streets.'

That yielded what one might expect.

So here I am once more, years later. As the title states, I'm searching for a long-term writing partner to build a vast world of our own design.

Ideal Partner (Required) Attributes:

  • Dedication. I'm an adult with adult-themed oppressions, but RP and writing itself is my child and she is precious to me. You'll find I morph into an icon for BadRPStories should she be repeatedly neglected or swept aside due to RL.

I understand that life happens, but, again, if it always happens, I'm not the partner for you and generally on the third or fourth occasion, I abandon ship.

  • Age. 24 years of age only. Granted, you can always lie about your age (I mean, when I was younger, I did it #fightthepower), but one's literacy and writerly ability tends to reflect their years in due time, which is primarily why I set the bracket where I have.

  • Open. Comfortable with "darker" elements arising in the Roleplay. As denoted in my next bullet marker, with large casts, comes the inevitable, promiscuous heathens, whom I love yet. I do not fade them to black. May their degeneracy shine on.

  • Diversity. Comfortable portraying multiple characters, genders, identities and pairing types as they might occur. I, myself, struggle with portraying certain character types, but no one is perfect. So long as the effort is there, a pat on the back remains in order.

  • OOC. This is a very big one for me--and yes, we all know that's what she said. But she also went on to specify how the RP partnership is more than just two humans crafting a story together, but it's also a friendship, and contrary to those posts that float around on FB that say something to the effect of 'real friends shouldn't need to call every such and such days to be considered a friend,' I'm unsure what laws their universe abides by, but they are not linear to my own.

I set OOC chatter as a requirement due to having experienced firsthand my own personal tendency to completely emotionally detach from the partner and the roleplay when an OOC connection is dismissed like some 1950's wife. Unfortunately, I've yet to perfect the persona of a customizable, methodical AI that I know many lust after.

Ideal Partner (Preferred) Attributes:

  • Genres. I'm open to nearly all genres, but have a preference toward Fantasy, Historical Fiction, Historical Fantasy, Urban Fantasy, Adventure, Cosmic Surrealism, and niche abstracts that delve into the horror of the id and such. Settings can be whatever our hearts desire at the time of crafting.

  • Availability. I'm available Friday late night - Monday evening until the end of Spring 2024. EST. I'm searching for a more back-and-forth posting style, or scheduled writing times within the mentioned availability window if you should have it. It's not a hard requirement, but I'm not really mentally there the other days. (Not including next weekend, wherein which I'll be contrarily busy.)

  • Platform. I have a strooong preference toward GDocs, but I've come to see how disconcerting the real-time writing space can be and am alternatively open to Discord or Hangouts. Never Reddit.

  • Novella-Style. If you routinely post 3 paragraphs, all should be well. But I, alone it would seem, seek after quanity before quality, ultimately wanting both. Also, 3rd person pov only, save for uniquely written scenes / prose demand.

  • Paracosm. Don't be afraid to be creative and share your imagined wants. I may laugh and prod if they're too bizarre, but if you're a passionate writer, there is almost 0 chance I'll say no.

Brief Stints About Me:

  • 27 years old. Female.

  • Communicative, unless something's come up. Just poke me. I'll be grateful, as chances are, I'll be somewhat available but just lacking momentum. Nagging me is highly effective, never a bother.

  • People-pleaser. I can't imagine anything more satisfying than writing something or doing something that makes a Roleplaying partner I care for happy to be alive.

  • If this post has not revealed as much: I'm neither shy nor withholding in any sense of the words. More often than not, that tarnishes potential partnerships. But I've determined it to be a worthwhile sacrifice, all things considered.

  • I don't RP with married individuals, given the range of content surfacing in the story. Again, you can always lie or omit, but I mention this on the tiniest chance anyone who reaches out might respect it.

That concludes the bulk of the prerequisites. If you feel there's a great deal of compatibility in our respective Roleplaying sentiments, please don't hesitate to reach out.

I know mirroring such a lengthy introduction can be daunting and abominably disheartening should the effort prove wasteful in the end, so rest assured, I don't expect anything too extravagant--if anything at all. A small summary about yourself, DM directing me to a past profile of yours, or writing sample and assumed writerly alignment in the mere act of your responding to this search ad should suffice.

No less, I hope your search goes well, even if for a season.
