Hi everyone. I am an under writer and always feel.. I'm short with words as I'm writing my 1st novel & I'm not sure about the rules..
Can anyone please suggest/ opine how many words are ok for location description, mood, tone in relation to character for each scene setting? This is because I don't want to bore the reader and it's always at the back of my mind. How effectively to merge location description with characters & authors voice/tone?
Thank you. Good day
EDIT: Dear Reddit people, thank you for your answers. I deeply appreciate. I joined Reddit out of curiosity and I think this is amazing platform. I wanted to check how this works and put a question. It may take a while to get to know this platform and writing hub is great.
Since I am writing my debut novel, I hope my question do not come up and look silly. Nevertheless, deeply appreciate your answers and from here onwards, I will be putting post with lots of responsibility. Hope to learn and also give opinions on discussion with the best of my abilities.
Thank you very muchπ
The only thing you can do is trust your best judgement

I'm also an underwriter, started writing as a hobby a year ago and been trying to work a novel. If you like, you could DM me and we could look at each other's drafts
