This is my first attempt at properly writing anything that exceeds a length more fitting of a short story. The title is "Horizon's Promise." I'm aiming for a fantasy and sci-fi genre, and the current setting is the near future(sticking to 2037 as of this post) on a different planet. The planet that the main cast is on is called "Elloris." The main cast isn't a group of astronauts exploring the planet, but a small fleet from a militia that was caught up in a supernatural phenomenon that teleported them to the planet. Additionally, Elloris does already have a human population. The only difference between Earth and Elloris is the fact that while both planets are societally advanced, Elloris is reliant on Magic as opposed to Earth's reliance on Science.
As of now, there are only four chapters. collectively the chapters add up to just over 5k words, but none of the individual chapters exceed 1400 words. I'm not looking for any specific criticism, just anything that you think needs to be said. I'll do my best to listen to all the criticism I get.
