I debuted a few months ago as a very basic black tights, no actual gimmick because my trainer wanted me to focus on wrestling before getting into the real pageantry and not overwhelm myself. But now he wants me to focus on an actual gimmick, and a few days ago he mentioned I was built like Taz (The Looney Tunes, not the commentator)
It got me thinking, especially because I loved Umaga as a kid. I want to do the unintelligible wild savage gimmick, but I'm whiter than baby powder and it's 2024. How do I avoid any sort of controversy or accusations of racism by overzealous or admittedly regular zealous twitter users? Because I don't want to do something actually racist either.
I currently plan on avoiding anything associated with actual tribes or native people (not calling them savage, but that's where people go to) so no wooden masks, Tiki imagery, or tribal music. I basically plan on wearing brown tights, some basic geometric facepaint, and do a Taz impression to speak. Is there anything else I should avoid?
Could go for a Nordic theme, viking savages are always dope.
