I've always liked Wranglers but they have seemed so impractical forever, especially as a daily driver. Now that I walk to work, I would like to have a TJ as a weekend driver/project car. I would specifically be looking at a TJ Sahara, 4.0 manual but I am confused on which would be the best year model. A few sites said the 03-04 is good because they are fairly reliable and have an upgraded interior. A few other sites said the 98-99 are the best model years but I wasn't exactly sure why. It seems like the TJ Sahara's are difficult to find anyway, so I'm not sure if I could even find the year I'm looking for but just curious what that year should be.
Also, I hear it's a love/hate relationship driving the Jeep, but would you guys say they are fun to drive? Since it would pretty much only be a weekend car I'm looking for something fun even though I know the gas mileage is horrendous.
And sadly, the Jeep would probably see 99.9% pavement so I feel like the four-wheel drive would be a waste, but they never made them in two-wheel drive so I'd have to maybe go to the snow once a year to make myself feel better.
